The house located on 41 Main St, was built around 1900 by Marshie Paquet, grandson of Fidele Paquet, one of the original settlers. In 1905, he ran a store that sold groceries, fruit, cigars, tobacco, also all kinds of temperate drinks.

The house located on 42 Main St, was built before 1850. The home was used a Tavern from 1850-1876, ran by James Moynagh. His son ran a Railroad Boarding house and taught navigation until the late 1800's. In 1951 the home was sold to Keith MacKenzie, who was the longest serving mayor of Souris.

The house located on 45 Main St, was built before 1888 for James Dunphy a saddler that ran his business from the home. The home has been a convenience store and restaurant.
49 Longworth Avenue

The house located on 49 Longworth Ave, was built around 1900 by Peter Stewart a carpenter, when he built this house for himself and family the wood had to be dried for three years before using.

The house located on Belle Ave, was built in 1880 by Frank Conroy, a carpenter.

The house located on 5 Belmont St, was built after 1884 by J.J Hughes.

The house located on 51 Main St, was built by or for Mac LaVie, Captain in 1856. This is a Maritime Vernacular Style, but has seen many renos in the last couple of years.

The house located on 62 Main St, was built around 1915 for Dr. A.H Smallwood a Dentist in Souris. Dr. Smallwood had one of the first cars in Souris, in 1918, he was on the Town Council for 20 years and the Mayor for 7 years. His main concern was for the establishment and maintenance of a town owned Power Plant. After 1918, one was set up until Maritime Electric took it over in 1923.

The building on 67 Main St, was built around 1912 for H.J. Mabon, a druggist. Dr. A. Smallwood had a Dentist's office on the second floor in 1914. Since then it had been used for many things including a barbershop, apartments, Century 21 and MacInnis Fuels. Now it is used for apartments and has had new renos in the last couple of years.

The house on 68 Main St, was built in 1903. Dr. A.A MacLennan, Physician lived there. Known as the "Furguson House" Jim Furguson had a drug store in this house, then Cox's hotel purchased it for additional hotel rooms. Then it was sold to Lucy Soloman were she ran a beauty shop for many years.
7 Belmont Street
7 Belmont Street
The house on 7 Belmont St, was built in 1845. It was hauled from the North Side to Main St, Dr. A.A MacLennan and his family lived in the home, and moved out in 1903. The home had to be moved again before 1909, so that J.J Hughes could build his store on the lot that is presently the Co-op parking lot, know the home is still on the lot located on Belmonst St.
7 Sunset Street
7 Sunset Street
The house on 7 Sunset St, was built by Marshall Paquet, in 1863. This is one of the three housees still standing that belonged to three of the sons of Fidele Paquet, an original Acadian settler, who came to Souris in 1813.
