Presumably, this group of woman sitting on the front steps of the Cornwall United Church is the Cornwall Women's Institute. They look as though they had a busy day of cleaning!

Women's Institute Provincial Council

Provincial Council of the Women's Institute, year unknown. Isabel (Leonard) MacDonald is one of the women in the photograph. Isabel's granfather William was the first Catholic immigrant to Cornwall. He came around the year 1819. The Leonard homestead is close to the Clyde River boundary

This is an aerial photo of the former community of York Point. Visible on the far right hand side of the picture is the North River. Just below the point is where the West River begins and on the far left is Bass Cove.
