Squires Residence

This drawing of C.F. Squire's home can be found on page 153 of the 1973 Commemorative Edition of Meacham's 1880 Atlas. Tragically, the Squire home was demolished May 30, 2011. It was located on the TransCanada Highway very close to the Ferry Road.

This stained glass can be found in the back entry way of the Church. The wording along the bottom says,

Statue dedication & blessing

The statue of St. Francis of Assisi was dedicated and blessed in 1993. On hand for the blessing was the Most Reverend Bishop Vernon Fougère, and Fr. Eric Dunn, pastor of St. Francis of Assisi in 1993.

The building in this photo is the "old store" (presumably the Cornwall general store). The majority of the people in front of the store are members of the Howard family (proprietors of the store). As noted on the bottom of the photograph, the people in the photo (from left to right) are; Hilda Crosby, Alice, Isabel, Stanley C., mom and pop (Marjory and Hazen Howard)

This Sunday School class is standing in front of the former North River Baptist Church. The church was located adjacent to the former North River rink.

This teachers license was granted to Miss Sophia Alice Vessey, the grandmother of Alice Wilson. It is dated 1885. This license certifies Ms. Vessy as a third class teacher

This photograph was taken on an Ottawa-bound flight during the Spring of 2009. The River in the center of the photo is the North River, the West River to the right and the Hillsborough River to the left.
