Brooks Homestead
-
John Brook’s house in White Sands. The elder John Brooks emigrated from England in 1822. John (the first) died in 1890, so this would be his oldest son. This may be the house that John Brooks the elder lived in though, as he left his son John 40 acres of land in his will (although it's not clear if those acres included a house).

Cahoon's Store
-
An unknown boy drives a sleigh in front of what used to be Herbert Cahoon's Store (right). Cahoon mostly sold hardware, and ran the store until he died in 1960. The building on the left is the original home of the Prowse family. Cahoon's was later purchased and moved across the river to Machon's Point, and today Brehaut's restaurant stands on the site.
