The first church in kinkora was built between 1847-1849. The tower was added 1872. When the new church was built it was moved it across the street and used it as a community hall.

Home of the Potato King
This is the home of Mr. M.J. McIver, his wife Catherine and their children. Mr. McIver was well known for his influence in expanding the potato industry on PEI in the 1920’s. He built this house on property he bought from a Mr. John Wall in 1920. He and his wife were great supporters of the arts in the community and hosted many clubs and events in their home. The house was sold to the Sisters of Saint Martha in 1935.

An invitation to the book launch of “Around kinkora Area” by Kevin Farmer. It was supported and published the Maple Leaf Senior Citizens Club who are based out of the Seniors Room at the kinkora Place. The book gives the history from their founding until 1990 of kinkora and the surrounding communities: Maple Plains, Middleton, Newton, and Shamrock.
