Thistle and Shamrock School
kinkora’s first incorporation was that of the Thistle and Shamrock school district in 1855. A school was built in Shamrock in 1857. It was named Thistle and Shamrock school in 1867, to recognise the Scottish students from Township 67 and the Irish students from Township 27 that it served. The school closed down in 1972.
