This old house on the corner of the Queens Point Rd and the Harbor Rd has has been known to many of the people of Grand Tracadie as Johnny Johns, named after Johnny John MacDonald. Conceived in 1885 it operated as the Grand Tracadie Library, inspiring the youth with the likes of Shakespeare, MacAuley, Dickins, as well as books on agriculture, and travel. Around 1900 the house was much larger than it stands today, extending back away from the Harbor Rd. It is said that during the peak summer season Johnny Johns would take in the overflow guests from the Lorn/Acadia Hotel. Johnny John's still stands today at the end of the Queens Point Rd. in Grand Tracadie and is enjoyed as a summer home.
